For the Birdz

This page is to display some pictures I have taken of birds. The camera I am using cost me a grand. It is a Mavica MVC-CD1000 digital 2.1 Mega pixel with a CD drive in it. It is great. The media is cheap and the camera doubles as an external hard drive for transporting any files or pictures back and forth. It has an awesome zoom capability with 10x optical and 20x digital. Only thing I do not like about digital is the delay when shooting. You can really miss some good shots. Forget about action shots!

Since I was a child, my Grandmother and Aunt taught me to love birds, to watch them, and appreciate the finer things in nature. I wish Grandmother could have been here with us longer to see me now. My aunt still loves nature and lives in Tennessee. The following pictures were taken at my sisters house in Bessemer Alabama around Thanksgiving 2002. Enjoy.

A Black-Capped Chickadee Bluebird swinging on a feeder!!

An early Mourning Dove basking in the rising sun.

A Golden Finch

Another Bluebird You talk'n to me? Another Mourning Dove shot.
This Cardinal was a long shot! Taken with the zoom max'd out.

Here's a cute little Carolina Wren (in Alabama!!)

An elusive Downy Woodpecker. Some more Bluebirds. Almost missed this one!
A purple House Finch. Can I keep em?

Nice tit!!  A tufted Titmouse.

Another Bluebird! Pretty aren't they? Almost looks fake! A Nuthatch! The only bird that can walk DOWN a tree.

A big ole' Red Bellied Woodpecker coming in for some seeds.

A cautious Bluebird

Bright male Golden Finch Upside down Nuthatch!!

Lost some clarity from the glass on this one.

I really like this shot of a Mourning Dove at sunrise.

Nuthatch talking to his buddy Chickadee Female Golden Finch
