Hondian Outdoors

March 16

Got the rear tire back on and need to air it up. Need to do some powder coating too. But today....I am without half of my electricity...None of my 220 equipment or appliances will work. Only half of the 110 circuits in the house work. So I went ahead and mounted the rim and put it all together and pushed it out in the driveway!!

Next week I will trailer Hondian out to Fort Worth for a custom seat that she has been long awaiting for. The seat will include a set of holsters that will hang down on the sides resting just in front of the rear fender and covering that gap. All hand tooled and it will be sharp. The seat and holsters are being made by Carman Allen at http://www.carmanallen.com If you are interested in a seat you should really go check out his website. The man is the most talented leather artist I have seen and a great honest guy to work with.

Here is the left side. It is missing something (besides the seat and shield). I am going to run one exhaust under the bike and run it down this side and I think that will finish it up nicely!! To me this looks like is was a production bike...

Don't mind the flat and consider it will be raised about an inch and a half in the rear when aired up. Also need to install fork oil as they are empty right now. Sorry, just a mental note for myself.....  The Ahoogah horn gives it another touch of retro.

Man, this looks really Indian like here....

These pipes are going to have to go. For one, they are about 6 years old and show all the bumps and scratches I put on them as you can clearly see in the picture, and Two, the top fender is now resting against the fender and will ruin the paint. I bought a set of VLX1300 pipes to drill out and use the cans for this ride. They will stick out past the rear fender when fitted.

Can you say...RETRO?  I knew that you could.... Love this look.

My brother says it looks like a praying mantis from this angle.  These bars are the stock Spirit bars and I have always maintained that they put the wrists in a comfortable resting state with the elbows down. The 6" Rizoma risers pull them back to make for a very comfortable ride. The Harley grips look lethal and they are...those and the mirrors have gotten some of my flesh a few times already.

Here you can see the brakes are not installed yet. I am powder coating the center of the rotor candy purple as well as the caliper.

This is the best for last picture!! Well I modified it by dropping a picture in the background just for show and that's next, but this is the angle that drops your jaws when you know what it was and see it now.
