Wow! A bolt on upgrade to a VTX headlamp. Cost just over $200. Adds a nice chrome dome to the front of the bike hiding the wires and cables behind the headlamp. Below are the prices and part numbers I ordered from Direct Line, Inc in Florida. Thanks to Charlie for the heads up on this place. Prices were decent, shipping took about 2 weeks.

Now lets start from the beginning. I opened the highly anticipated box as soon as it arrived from FedEx (checked Fedex.com online every 15-minutes today awaiting delivery!) Picture#1 shows the contents spread out over the table.

Picture #1. Parts
FIrst thing you need to do is install the "Stay A" into the Case. Picture #2 is the Stay A.

Picture #2. Stay A
Picture #3 shows how these two pieces fit together.

Picture #3. Stay A Inserted into the Case
Using a N0.2 Phillips-head screwdriver, insert the two screws labeled 90104-KZ3-B00. These are the dull set screws. See Picture #4.

Picture #4. Installing Stay A Screws
Picture #5 shows the Stay A installed. This "Stay" is what the outter ring will bolt to later.

Next lay the Rim face down as shown in Picture #6.

Picture #6. Rim
Grab the Headlight Unit and look at the back of it. It indicates the "UP" end on it. See Picture #7.

Picture #7. UP indicated on the Headlight
Lay the Headlight into the Rim and alight the tabs on the side as shown in Picture #8.

Picture#8. Headlight Tabs
Install one screw on each side to attach the Headlight to the Rim. The screws used are labeled 93903-44210. See Picture #9.

Picture #9. Installing Headlight Rim Tap Screws
At the bottom of the rim is a retaining hook that will latch onto the new VTX housing. See Picture #10. There is a screw location here as well for one of the three 90380-GE2-760 chrome screws. The other two will be installed at the end of the procedure. Go ahead and install one here now to help hold the lamp assembly in the rim.

Picture #10. Retaining Hook
Now you should have an assembly that looks something like Picture #11.

Now on to the removal of the stock lamp. You do not need to remove the headlamp bracket from the triple tree. Instead, remove the two bolts that hold the stock lamp housing to the bracket as shown in Picture #12 below. These are two 10mm bolts and nuts as shown in Picture #13.

Wiggle the stock headlamp out of the bracket once the bolts are removed. Turn it over and find two 5mm bolts extending from underneath as shown in Picture #14. Remove these two bolts taking care not to drop the standoffs that may come out with them as shown in Picture #15. One of mine came out, the other stayed in with the bolts removed.

Pry the
stock headlamp out of the case starting at the bottom of the unit. The top has a
retaining lip as shown in Picture #16.
Once the two halves are separated at the
bottom you can drop the headlamp out of the case to unhinge this retaining lip.

I had a bit of a time trying to get the headlight out of the socket. There is a clip that must be undone, a rubber boot that gets in your way, and I had to use a screwdriver blade to pry the plug out of the socket. Once unplugged you can set the headlamp aside. See Picture #17.
****WARNING!! Take care when handling the bulb. You do not want to touch it. Oils from your hands will cause the glass to rupture when lighted.****

Slide the stock headlamp case off of the bike while routing the socket through the back of it. I recommend at this point reattaching the case back to the headlamp and inserting the two 5mm screws. This is so you will not misplace them. Set the stock assembly aside to sell it later!
